Renowned Producer ☆Taku Takahashi of m-flo Creates Groundbreaking Electronic Soundtrack for 'Shinsei Galverse'! Theme Song performed by KAMIYA!
We’ve revealed the electrifying theme song for our anime Shinsei Galverse, directed by Ayaka Ohira!
A high-energy, genre-defying track produced by ☆Taku Takahashi (m-flo, Panty & Stocking, Space Dandy), with lyrics and vocals by Tokyo hyperpop artist KAMIYA!
The soundtrack, also composed and produced by ☆Taku Takahashi, spans a broad spectrum of electronic genres including eurobeat, lounge, and industrial, reflecting the show’s emotional highs and lows.
Taku has produced anime soundtracks before, but he felt that Galverse stands alone!
“There haven’t been many anime with this kind of taste before,” says Taku. “The visuals are nostalgic, but the music feels futuristic. I brought my DNA from the dance world, but built this like a cinematic soundtrack, replacing orchestral sounds with electronic music.”
Director Ayaka Ohira described the theme as “a real gal’s anthem,” born from the early Heisei-era revival of gal culture that inspired the entire project.
“When I thought of 'gal', eurobeat came to mind,” Ayaka said. “But I wanted something more interesting, so I asked Taku for 'neo-eurobeat'. The art is clearly 90s inspired, so I wanted that nostalgic feeling mixed with futuristic elements.”
The title of the theme song “KYOMEI VERSE♡” is drawn from KAMIYA’s lyrics, referencing the 共鳴 or resonance between the Gal characters in the anime.
“I wrote these lyrics hoping to resonate with Zero-chan, my favourite character, and create a new world together, just like the characters in the show. Please enjoy both the anime and the song to the fullest!! GALVERSE is just too insanely powerful and unstoppable! Seriously, it’s epic!!” KAMIYA said.
